OctoCAST
OctoCAST can be used as an origin server to deliver content to any CDN service for the end-user and multiscreen formats.
OctoCAST is a reverse HTTP proxy, sometimes referred to as an HTTP accelerator or a caching server. It stores files or fragments of data in memory, allowing them to be served quickly. It is designed for modern hardware, modern operating systems, and heavy workloads.
OctoCAST is also a flexible tool. The OctoCAST configuration language is powering up fast and allows the administrators to express their wanted policy. OctoCAST has proven its effectiveness on both large and expensive servers as well as small infrastructures.
Its focus is performance and flexibility and it is designed to run on 64-bit architectures.
OctoCAST bridges local area networks by repackaging selected multicast traffic on an enterprise network as unicast and sending across WAN connections to one or more destinations. It can also be used to duplicate a single video stream to multiple unicast destinations, to enable private sessions or secure content to be shared with entities around the world. An advanced traffic shaping algorithm ensures the quality of service (QoS) reflecting video payload on any network while maintaining consistent bandwidth utilization.
Support all common IPTV formats
Any IPTV formats available on the market from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 as well as H.264 and HEVC.
Highly dense MPEG reflection
Up to 50 streams in a 1-RU server, or 20 for HLS to Multicast.
Two-way processing
Multiprocessing work from multicast to unicast and from unicast/HLS to multicast.
Ultra-low processing latency
One of the best processing latencies in the market with less than 20 milliseconds per service.
Supports AES Encrypted streams
Eliminate the need to unlock feeds in distribution centers.
Encryption & VPN compatibility
Compatible with existing encryption systems as well as VPNs to ensure data security.
Bridge from LAN to WAN
Bridge LAN sites over non-multicast WAN connections.
From Multicast to Unicast
Allow the distribution of multicast streams to multiple unicast recipients.
Distribution of Video & Metadata
Disseminate Full Motion Video (FMV) content with metadata to remote users.
Conversion of Unicast to Multicast
Convert incoming unicast or HLS sources to multicast for an efficient distribution to LAN users.
Bridge between physical networks
Bridges between physical networks using reflection between two distinct network adapters.
